Ice and Snow Tourism Attractions and Activities in China Showcased in Hawaii
HONOLULU, March 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The ‘Nihao China!’ 2025 Ice and Snow Tourism Promotion kicked off in the United States on February 28, 2025, in sunny Honolulu, Hawaii. More than 100 guests from the travel trade industry and media were treated to a spectacular photo exhibition of “Dreams of Ice and Snow in China” and the film screening of the country’s breathtaking ice and snow tourism attractions, sports and cultural activities during the winter season.
Organized by the Network of International Culturalink Entities of China, represented by its Deputy Director, Wan Ting; the China National Tourist Office, Los Angeles; the Departments of Culture and Tourism of Heilongjiang Province, the Culture and Tourism Department of Shanxi Province, and the Lhasa Culture and Tourism Bureau, the event brought to the sunny shores of Hawaii the stunningly beautiful winter landscapes in China that have lured local and international tourists to the country.
“China’s is fast gaining global momentum as a winter destination. Adrenaline-pumping snow activities, ice fishing, winter cultural festivals or simply gazing at mountains wrapped in icy shawl have driven the country’s ice and snow tourism economy to new heights,” Dawei Wu, director China National Tourist Office in Los Angeles said.
He added, “We would like to share the revitalized infrastructure, upgraded services, diverse ice and snow products in China’s winter destinations to the travel industry in Hawaii. Through this event we hope to see these destinations included in a China itinerary and in tour packages to Asia.”
The “Nihao! China” – 2025 Ice and Snow Tourism Overseas Promotion is hosted by the Network of International Culturalink Entities of China in collaboration with the Departments of Culture and Tourism of Heilongjiang, Shanxi, Jilin and Xinjiang as well as the Lhasa Culture and Tourism Bureau. The event is supported by the International Cooperation Department of the National Radio and Television Administration, the Silk Road Tourism Cities Alliance and China Eastern Airlines as an official partner. The initiative aims to implement the development concept of “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, and so are ice and snow-covered landscapes” which leverages China’s rich winter tourism resources for a thriving cultural and tourism economy, promoting high quality international cultural and tourism exchanges.
The launch ceremony of the promotion was held on January 5, 2025, in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province while a special event in Australia was held in Sydney on February 26, 2025. A special China-Japan Tourism Business Exchange Meeting was also held in Tokyo on March 3rd this year.
